hey , I saw a great pbs piece on frogs the night before last, they are dying you know from lack of habitat and a fungal disease that can be stopped but is almost overwhelmingly present. Julie says I am the only person she knows that calls them peepers and I might be far off, but I have always know the early spring evening and morning wet to be so. And I can't imagine being out at dusk by the water or marsh and not hearing a proverbial chorus bass tenor and soprano on a goodnight, others just a rolling chorus of peeps. a painter can fool around with still life but it's not the same as still life.
